SRU CHAMBER FLUTE CHOIR CONCERT TO FEATURE RENAISSANCE TO 2006 SELECTIONS

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University's Chamber Flute Choir, under the direction of Stacey Steele, assistant professor of music, will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in Swope Recital Hall, that includes music written during the Renaissance to that written earlier this year.

Highlights will include, "Voices of Nagasaki," composed by Will Offermans honoring the 400-year history of the relationship between Japan and Holland. Joining the flutists will be SRU percussionist Justin Chesarek of Renfrew, and members of the SRU choral department. Familiar melodies arranged for flute will include "Reflections on Bonnie Doon" and a fun version of "The Gypsy Rover," featuring Mike Desnoyers, tenor soloist from Allegheny, N.Y. Also offered will be "Within" by British composer Ian Clarke.

Admission is $3 for general public; students free.
