SRU ‘FOCUS ON FRENCH WEEK’ TO FEATURE FRENCH GUILDER

     SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University modern languages and cultures department will hold its annual “Focus on French Week” beginning Tuesday [Nov. 14] with a campus visit by contemporary French guilder Joseph Kadri, a Compagnon doreur member of an elite group of artisans recognized for their skills throughout Europe.

     Kadri will offer a public presentation of his craft at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Carruth Rizza Hall.

     The week will also include a showing of “8 Femmes,” a recent French comedy at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 in Carruth Rizza, with several varieties of French cheese served. SRU French students will offer presentations on aspects of the cultures of the Francophone world from 12:30 pm to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16 as part of a luncheon set for Carruth Rizza Hall.

       The week is being organized by Dr. Thomas C. Daddesio, assistant professor in the department. For details call 724-738-2646.
