Students entering the program in Fall 2006 and after are
required to maintain a minimum Psychology QPA of 2.5 in order to
continue as a declared psychology major or minor.
- Students whose QPA is below 2.50 will be given one semester to
bring it up to the minimum criterion.
- Students who do not bring the QPA up during the subsequent
semester will be removed from the major or minor program and will
not be readmitted.
- Students whose QPA falls below the minimum criterion during
their last semester will not be permitted to graduate with a major
or minor in psychology.
- Students will not be approved to graduate with a major or minor
in psychology with a D or F in PSYC 105, PSYC 221, or PSYC
325/326.
All psychology majors and minors must earn a grade of C or
higher in Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 105) in order to
progress in the program.
- Students who do not earn a minimum grade of C will be given one
opportunity to bring the grade up, and will not be permitted to
take additional psychology classes until the minimum grade is
achieved.
All psychology majors and minors must earn a grade of C or
higher in Research Methods and Statistical Applications I (PSYC
221) in order to be eligible to take Introduction to Experimental
Psychology (PSYC 325) and Experimental Psychology Lab (PSYC
326).
- Students who do not earn a minimum grade of C will be given one
opportunity to bring the grade up.
- Students who do not earn the minimum grade the second time
around will be removed from the major or minor program.
