‘Goosebumps’ author headlines Children’s Day; free tickets available

 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University is offering free tickets to an appearance by world-renowned children’s author R .L. Stine. Stine is famous for his “Goosebumps” series. He will do a talk, reading and book signing at 3 p.m. April 21 in the University Union Multi-Purpose Room. The event is part of Children’s Day during the University’s April 18-29 Kaleidoscope arts festival.

In order to assure entrance to the event, SRU is distributing free tickets (maximum four tickets per family) on a first-come, first-served basis.  Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope and indicate the number of tickets needed to:

The Multi-Purpose Room seats 1,100. If room is available, free tickets will be released at the door. Stine has sold more than 300 million books, making him one of the best-selling children’s authors in history. He will be available to sign only books from his Rotten School series. His books will be available for sale at the event. They include “Say Cheese and Die!,” “Be Careful What your Wish For” and “Monster Blood.”

His books are known for giving thrills and chills. He launched the Goosebumps series in 1992. This series has been translated into 32 languages and spawned a TV spin off.
