SRU Institute for Community Service-Learning plans 10-year reunion

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –  All students, faculty, staff and alumni and their families who have been involved in Slippery Rock University’s Institute for Community Service-Learning and Nonprofit Leadership are invited to a 2 p.m. Sept. 15 reunion marking the organization’s 10-year anniversary.

The event will be in the institute’s Robert A. Lowry Center offices.

The reunion is being coordinated by Connector Corps/AmeriCorps members.

In the past decade, some 600 members have logged nearly 500,000 hours of service.

“Our goal is to reconnect the connector corps with the people who were important to us. Those who worked side-by-side no matter the year to get things done, to demonstrate to the world that young people are a valuable resource and that a small group indeed can change the world – or at least their little part of it,” said Alice Kaiser-Drobney, institute director and assistant professor of political science.

Those planning to attend are asked to e-mail: theinstitute@sru.edu or call 724.738.2273.
