Biography:
Dr. Wei Bian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education at Slippery Rock University. She received her Bachelor Degree and first Masters degree in Physical Education and Sport Training from Beijing University of Physical Education. Before coming to the United Stats, Dr. Bian used to play for one of the top volleyball teams in China and has taught/coached volleyball for more than 10 years. Dr. Bian received her second Masters degree in Physical Education with a concentration on Teaching/Coaching and Sport Psychology from University of Northern Iowa. She received her Ph. D in 2003 from The University of Georgia with a major in Sport Pedagogy and a minor in Instructional Technology.
Before coming to SRU in 2007, Dr. Bian served as a teacher and coach for colleges both in China and the United States. Many of her research publications and presentations are related to volleyball training, coaching/teaching expertise, technology application in physical education, and physical activity participation.
