Qualifications
Information Technology Intern
Erie Insurance Group, located in Erie, PA, will have Information Technology internships available to students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline. Applications will be accepted from students who are completing their sophomore or junior year with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. IT interns will be assigned to one of the following disciplines within our IT Division.
Programmer Trainee Intern
Assists in writing basic programming specifications, coding computer programs and testing and implementing computer software systems and programs. Qualifications include: Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Business Administration and basic knowledge of programming languages and techniques are required.
Quality Assurance Intern
Assists with data collection, testing and compiling expected results. Qualifications include: Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and testing software is preferred.
Technical Writing Intern
Assists with creating and updating documentation, including building online versions of manuals. Qualifications include: Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, English, Communications or Technical Writing and a working knowledge of word processing software are required. Knowledge of spreadsheet, database, presentation and HTML software preferred.
Systems Administration Intern
Assists in the administration and develops a working knowledge of ERIE's operating systems and subsystems. Qualifications include: Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or equivalent and a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software are required. Some previous experience with and a basic knowledge of systems administration activities and concepts are preferred.
Network Services Intern
Assists with auditing, validating and processing dial-up connections and updating operating system software. Qualifications include: Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking or equivalent is required. Prior experience with integrated data/voice communications networks and equipment is preferred.
Business Consulting Intern
Assists with project portfolio management tasks, production support, project tasks and IT process improvement tasks. Qualifications include: Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Management or equivalent and a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software are required. Working knowledge of database, presentation and diagramming software are preferred.
