Slippery Rock Farmer’s Market adds children’s activities


SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Robert A. Macoskey Center for Sustainable Systems Education and Research will offer children’s activities at the Slippery Rock Area Farmers’ Markets every Saturday through Oct. 27, except for Oct. 6. The free programs are from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. 

Children are invited to the following activities:

  • Sept. 29: Making apple cider
  • Oct. 13:  Making fall foliage wreaths
  • Oct. 20: Having fun with pumpkins
  • Oct. 27: Having fun with root vegetables

The Slippery Rock Area Farmers’ Market is located in the gazebo parking lot across the street from the Slippery Rock Fire Dept.  Local producers offer vegetables, honey, breads, eggs, ground beef, reiki, crafts and more.  Come visit every Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon.  

The 83-acre Macoskey Center is part of Slippery Rock University. It promotes sustainability through education and demonstration.
