SRU Alumni Association plans Nov. 9 Veteran’s Day
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University Alumni Association will host a Veteran’s Day Observance at 11:11 a.m. Nov. 9 at the Veterans Memorial outside the Russell Wright Alumni House on campus.
Lt. Col. William Bialozor, commanding officer of SRU’’s Army ROTC program, will deliver the keynote address. Dick Manning, a 1975 SRU graduate and president of the alumni association, will formally add Michael Klimenko’s name to the Fallen Comrades Alumni Memorial. SRU alumni will lay a wreath at the memorial.
SRU Army ROTC cadets will present the flags. The SRU Chamber Singers will present the “Star Spangled Banner” and the “SRU Alma Mater.”
Those planning to attend are asked to call the Office of Alumni Relations at 724.738.2018. A luncheon at the University Club in North Hall follows the ceremony. Cost is $5.95.
