New SRU Jazz/Tap Dance Ensemble plans concert

 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University dance students have formed a new student-run dance troupe, which will present its first  “Jazz/Tap Dance Ensemble ” at 3 p.m. Nov. 11 in Swope Music Hall.

           The Jazz/Tap Dance Ensemble is under the directorship of Nora Ambrosio, chairperson of the dance department, and Ursula Payne, associate professor of dance. 

           The concert will feature dances choreographed by SRU dance majors. All of the planned dances have been through an adjudication focused on choreography, technique and performance elements.

            The troupe is dedicated to featuring jazz and tap dance, as well as hip hop. 

           Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general admission at the door.
