Pittsburgh Magazine salutes SRU graduate in ‘40 Under 40’

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Patrick J. Geho, a 1992 Slippery Rock University graduate who was a student government leader and is now president of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce, has been recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine and the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project as No. 21 in its November “40 Under 40” salute.

The project spotlights “those who protect, guide, inspire, entertain, heal, feed, educate, preserve and mentor to make the region a better place to live, work and play.”

Geho, who earned his SRU degree in public administration, is cited for his involvement in “a long list of public service and economic-development projects.” The entry notes, he “could work in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg or even Washington, D.C., but he returned to his hometown in Beaver County where he is now president of the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce.”

Since joining the chamber two years ago, he is credited with attracting and retaining almost 200 new members. Geho, the magazine said, “facilities professional development, continuing education, networking political debates and job fairs. He has also launched a marketing campaign to encourage businesses to buy and hire locally, and he is launching a leadership development program for Beaver County residents.”

When not handling chamber business, Geho is a member of the Penn State Beaver Advisory Board, the Women’s Shelter of Beaver County and Old Economy Village.
