SRU exercise science major receives $1,000 scholarship

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Krystal Daniels, an SRU exercise science major from New Middletown, Ohio, has received a $1,000 National Leadership Scholarship from her employer Chick-fil-A in Boardman, Ohio.

Daniels is also a community assistant in North Hall.

“Krystal really makes a very positive presence in the classroom. She is an enthusiastic and motivated student. She is a very positive ambassador for the exercise science program,” said Susan Herman, assistant professor of exercise and rehabilitative sciences and Daniels’ academic adviser.

The chain has awarded more than $500,000 in leadership scholarships in Ohio, and more than $22 million nationally, since starting the awards in 1973.
