MSG Wolf enlisted in the United States Army on August 1989. He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia for 11B Infantryman. Upon completion of his training at Fort Benning, he was assigned to Echo Company, 2nd BN, 7th Infantry, Fort Stewart, Georgia where he served as a dismount, a HMMWV driver, gunner, and Squad Leader. He was reassigned in December 1994 to Echo Company, 1st BN, 9th Infantry, Camp Hovey, South Korea where he served as a Section Leader of a Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Upon returning from overseas in December 1995, MSG Wolf was assigned to Charlie Company, 2nd BN, 29th Infantry at Fort Benning, Georgia as an instructor/writer of Basic and Advanced Rifle Marksmanship. He was then selected for Drill Sergeant (DS) duty in May 1997 and was reassigned to Alpha Company, 1st BN, 50th Infantry as a Drill Instructor for Infantry OSUT Soldiers. After completing DS duty in November 2000, he was assigned as the Platoon Sergeant to the Anti-Tank (TOW) Platoon of 1st BN, 87th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, at Fort Drum, New York. Later in July 2003, MSG Wolf was assigned as a Platoon Sergeant in Bravo Company, 1st BN, 87th Infantry. MSG Wolf was assigned to the Pentagon in October 2004 as an Army Watch Assistant Team Chief and later to the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO). While assigned to JIEDDO, MSG Wolf was assigned as the JIEDDO (Iraq) Operations Sergeant Major. In September 2008, MSG Wolf was assigned to the Slippery Rock Army ROTC Dept. where he currently serves as the Senior Military Science Instructor.
MSG Wolf’s deployments/rotations include Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Saudi Arabia/Iraq, August 1990-March 1991; 3 National Training Center Rotations, Ft. Irwin, CA; 3 Joint Readiness Training Center Rotations, Fort Polk, LA; Operation Enduring Freedom I and IV, Afghanistan, October 2001-March 2002 and July 2003-April 2004; and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Baghdad, Iraq, June 2007-July 2008.
MSG Wolf’s military schools and training include Improved TOW Vehicle (ITV) Gunners Course (E-9), Combat Lifesaver Course, Instructor Training Course, High Risk Environment Training Course, Counter IED Instructor Training Course, Total Army Retention Course, Improved Target Acquisition System (ITAS) Instructor Training Course (H), Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-commissioned Officer Course, NBC NCO/Officer Defense Course, Drill Sergeant School (X), Advanced Non-commissioned Officer Course, Pre-Command Course, and the Army Airborne School (P).
MSG Wolf’s’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal (5th award), National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Expeditionary Medal (with Arrowhead Device), Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Staff Badge, Valorous Unit Award (10th MTN), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with #3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Driver's Badge (Tracked), the Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd Award), the Expert Infantryman Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge.
MSG Wolf has been married for 17 years and has two sons.
