Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania seeks full-time (nine-month) tenure-track faculty member, at assistant professor level, in our 17-member Department of Communication, to begin Fall 2009.
Qualifications: Doctorate in communication or closely related discipline required. A.B.D. considered if completed at time of employment. College teaching experience preferred. The following are also required: successful performance in on-campus interview, including a teaching demonstration. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations.
Responsibilities: Our department offers undergraduate programs in Emerging Technology/Multimedia, Journalism, and Public Relations. Applicants should be able to teach at least three of the following introductory and upper-level courses in support of these programs: digital imaging, multimedia, publication production, video production, audio production, and media project management. Candidates will have the opportunity to teach in their specialty area and may be asked to teach other courses as needed by the department. Teaching load is 12 credit-hours (four courses) per semester. Faculty are expected to conduct research, advise students, perform department and university service.
