Leadership training expert addresses regional school superintendents    

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – John Hoyle, professor of education administration at Texas A&M and a specialist in leadership training and assessment and future studies, will deliver the main address at Slippery Rock University’s College of Education annual fall semester School Administrators Breakfast Oct. 24.

           The 8 a.m. event is in the University Club of North Hall. More than 100 regional school superintendents and their administrative staffs have been invited.

           Hoyle is one of America’s leading researchers and reformers in administrator training and an authority on future studies. In a 2004 national survey, he was selected by his peers as one of four “exceptional living scholars” in educational leadership. In 1999, he was named recipient of the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration’s Living Legend Award.

           His SRU address is titled “Responsibilities of Great Servant Superintendents.”

          “The College of Education is pleased to sponsor these gatherings each semester as a way of updating regional school superintendents and their staffs on important education issues and topics of interest. It is also a way to thank those who accept and support our students as student teachers in their schools throughout the year. It is also a way for use to show off our education programs and to hear what superintendents need as they look to hire new classroom teachers,” said Jay Hertzog, dean of SRU’s College of Education.
