SRU’s Army ROTC program commissions two second lieutenants    

 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University’s Army ROTC program will commission two graduating seniors as second lieutenants at 8 a.m. Dec. 13 ceremonies in the University Room of North Hall.

               Maj. Patrick Callahan and Maj. Stefan Bandas, Army ROTC faculty at the University, will lead the event.

               Cadet Cody Vincent Varano from New Castle and Cadet Ryan Neptune from Pittsburgh will be commissioned. 

               Both will be presented Bachelor of Science degrees in professional studies at SRU’s commencement ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Morrow Field House.

               Varano will be assigned to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Infantry and reports to Ft. Benning, Ga., in April.

               Neptune will be assigned to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Field Artillery unit, and reports to Fort. Sill, Okla., in March.

               A reception will follow the ceremony.
