Global communication giant hires Rock graduate as director

 

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa – Avaya, a provider of Intelligent Communications solutions for more than 90 percent of the Fortune 500 companies in the world, has hired Slippery Rock University graduate Gerard Baglieri as manager director of Avaya Canada.

            Baglieri, a 1983 communication graduate, will have responsibility for all sales, service and support of Avaya Unified Communications and Contact Center solutions sold to Canadian businesses and organization of all sizes. He will work from Toronto.

            “Baglieri brings a consistent record of success in sales growth, channel management and development of cross-functional teams,” said Deb Kline, Avaya spokeswoman.             

            Avaya delivers Intelligent Communications solutions that help companies transform their businesses to achieve marketplace advantage. More than 100 million businesses worldwide use Avaya solutions for IP Telephony, Unified Communications, Contact Centers and Communications-enabled business processes.

            Baglieri began his career as a field engineer and has held positions in sales and sales management at Racal Datacom, Cisco Systems, GiantLoop and Symbol Technologies. Most recently, he worked for Motorola, where he led the company’s Enterprise Mobility Business in South Asia, based in Singapore. This operation included 100 channel partners. 

            Baglieri, who is married and has three children, serves on the board of directors of NewLife NYC, an urban youth organization focused on helping at-risk teenagers.
