Graduate Assistantship

 

 

This assistantship is a merit-based competitive award for students who have demonstrated potential for leadership, advocacy for literacy, and commitment to bringing equality and justice to all Americans.  

For the academic year Fall/Spring, the recipient will be awarded a one-year, renewable Graduate Assistantship which provides:

 

  • Full Tuition waiver for both in- and out of state applicants
  • Stipend for the academic year

 

The student will work closely with a Frederick Douglass Institute mentor to enhance the student’s potential for advocacy, leadership, scholarship, and community outreach involvement.  In addition, Frederick Douglass Institute Scholars will work 20 hours per week under the supervision of the director of the Frederick Douglass Institute with the opportunity to engage in scholarship, research, service and leadership.
