Now that you have selected a lender the next step in processing your Federal Stafford Loan is to sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and complete the Entrance Counseling requirement.

 YOU MAY CONTINUE IN THE PROCESS IF:

1. you have received a 2009-10 SRU Financial Aid Award Letter that includes a Federal Stafford Loan.  The MPN can be signed and the Entrance Counseling can be completed on-line via the AES/PHEAA web site. Instructions and the linke to sign the MPN can be found on SRU's "How to sign the Stafford Loan Promissory Note" web page at http://www.sru.edu/pages/14998.asp.

YOU MAY NOT CONTINUE IN THE PROCESS IF:

1. you have not received a 2009-10 SRU Financial Aid Award Letter from Slippery Rock University; this means your aid/loan has not yet been processed; or
   
   

2. you have received a 2009-10 SRU Financial Aid Award Letter from Slippery Rock University  but the award does not include a Federal Stafford Loan.  This means that a Federal Stafford Loan has not been processed for you.

If you attempt to complete the MPN and your Federal Stafford Loan has not yet been processed, you will receive the following message:

“You will eventually need to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN), however, your MPN is currently unavailable.  AES will contact you by mail when your MPN is ready for online completion.   For questions, contact AES at 1-800-692-7392 or SRU at 724-738-2044”.
