2/23/10-2/28/10           World Premiere in English of “The Old Man’s Wings,” a play by Costa Rican Melvin Méndez, English translation by Deb Cohen.  Miller Auditorium.  Classroom visits and a reception are also planned for Méndez’s visit during that week.

10/16/09- 10/21/09 William Shakespeare’s Cymbeline, adapted and directed by Dr. David Skeele. 

12/1/09-12/6/09 Inspecting Carol written by Daniel Sullivan and the Seattle Repertory Theatre will be directed by Ms. Laura Smiley. 

2/26/09-3/3/10 The Old Man’s Wings written by Melvin Mendez and translated by Deb Cohen, directed by Laura Smiley.

All performances for the above shows for Monday through Saturday will be at 8 pm. Sunday performances at 2 pm. Miller Auditorium, $5 students, $10 general admission.

4/20/10-4/25/10 Brave New Plays, student written, student directed. Sheehy Theatre, performance times TBA. Admission prices TBA.

WOMEN’S STUDIES

10/13/09        Dr. Simi Linton will facilitate a Professional Development Day workshop entitled "Integrating Disability Studies into the Academic Curriculum: A Faculty Seminar" from 2 - 4 p.m. in the MPR and will also be the keynote speaker for a presentation entitled "Disability and the University: Examining the Curricular and Extra Curricular Imperatives" at 1:00 p.m. in the MPR.  

10/13/09        Women's Studies Mentoring Dinner in the Russell Wright Alumni House, 6:00 p.m.

10/14/09        Dr. Simi Linton will do a campus-wide multimedia presentation in Spotts World Culture Bldg. Auditorium from 4:00-5:30 p.m. entitled "My Body Politic: An Illustrated History," followed by a reception and book signing at 6:00 p.m. in the Russell Wright Alumni House.

10/22/09        LUNAFEST 2009 – films by, for, and about women, 7:00 p.m., ATS Auditorium, $3 students, $5 general admission, sponsored by SRU Women’s Studies.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund.

11/05/09        Dr. Lisa Wade will present "Female Genital Cutting in the American Imagination" during Common Hour in the Spotts World Culture Bldg. Auditorium.

11/19/09        Ms. Valena Beety, former prosecutor in Washington DC and national expert, will be presenting on domestic violence and the law.  Time and place to be announced.
