Biography:

Dr. Donahue is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Education Department at Slippery Rock University.  He received his B.S. at Castleton State College with concentrations in Teacher Education and Athletic Training.  Dr. Donahue continued his education by receiving his M.S. in Athletic Training at Indiana State University.  Traveling further west to New Mexico State University, he completed his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Critical Pedagogy.

Dr. Donahue is certified in Athletic Training.  He is also certified in K-12 Physical Education and General Science in Texas.  As an athletic trainer, he was given the opportunity to work with the Indiana High School basketball team and the Texas High School football team.  

In spring of 2009, Dr. Donahue presented “Application of Critical Pedagogy in a Health Methods Course” at EDA AAHPERD.  His current research interest includes: the Application of Critical Pedagogy in Physical Education Teacher Education. 

Dr. Donahue’s favorite activities include: golfing, running, tennis, and skiing (downhill and cross country.)
