Certificate in Personal Financial Planning
The Jobs Rated Almanac 2001 ranks financial planning as the nation's best job. In ranking professions, six criteria were considered. The criteria were: income potential, employment outlook, job security, work environment, physical demands and stress.
Slippery Rock University's program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) Board of Standards and meets their education requirement for CFP® The CFP® Board of Standards is a regulatory organization whose purpose is to assure the public that persons licensed to use the CFP® marks have met rigorous professional standards through the requirements of education, examination, experience and ethics. The CFP® designation is widely recognized as the top certification in financial planning.
Upon successful completion of this Slippery Rock University Program, a student will have met the CFP® Board education requirement and is then eligible to sit for the Certified Financial Planner® Certification Examination.
Program Requirements
The following six courses totaling 18 credit hours must be successfully completed (2.0 GPA in Program and 2.0 GPA in all SRU coursework) to earn the Certificate in Personal Financial Planning. The courses are:
