The Pennsylvania
Department of Education's Act 101 Program
The Act 101 Program in the Pennsylvania Department of Education
(PDE) provides funding to approximately 78 colleges and
universities (public, private, and community) across the
Commonwealth. Initiated by the Honorable K. Leroy Irvis in 1971 to
provide academic opportunity to PA students, the Act 101 Program
statewide has served thousands of graduates since its
inception.
The Act 101
Directors Association
The Act 101 Directors Association is composed of membership from
each of the participating colleges and universities through each
school's program director. This body works with PDE to provide an
efficient, equitable delivery of support services to PA students
across the state. The Act 101 Directors Association includes seven
regions across the state.
The Act 101 Student
Leadership Conference
Annually, the Act 101 Directors Association hosts a Student
Leadership Conference for program students across the Commonwealth.
Act 101 Program student representatives participate in leadership
opportunities, seminars, and workshops.
