COMPUTER SCIENCE STUDENTS TAKE HONORABLE MENTION
AT REGIONAL COLLEGIATE
COMPUTER PROGRAMMING CONTEST
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Two
student teams from Slippery Rock University’s computer
science department took honorable mention for the Central North
America Region in the Association for Computing Machinery
International Collegiate Programming Regional Contest held recently
at Ashland University.
The
team members, all computer science majors, and their hometowns
were:

Some
150 teams were involved, including those from the University of
Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, The Ohio State University,
the University of Indiana and Waterloo University in Canada. The
contest requires student teams to solve up to eight computer
programming problems in a five-hour period.
The
SRU teams were coached by associate Professor David
Valentine.
