BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University basketball teams achieved a split in Saturday's women's/men's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference interdivisional "crossover" doubleheader at Bloomsburg University.

The Rock men (5-5 overall, 2-4 interdivisional) recorded a 70-65 win in the day's second game after SRU's women (4-8 overall, 3-3 PSAC interdivisional) dropped a 68-55 decision in the opening game.

Bloomsburg is now 3-8 in men's action and 8-4 in women's action.

Both Rock teams return to action on Sunday as they travel to East Stroudsburg for the seventh and final game in the interdivisional crossover series. The women's game is set for 1 p.m., while the men's game is set for 3 p.m.

Men's game -- Senior forward Dave Freeman scored 17 points and had six rebounds to lead a group of four Rock players who scored in double figures.

Senior guard Aaron Epps added 15 points, while junior guard Bill Johnson had 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists and sophomore guard Dave Johnson had 10 points and five assists.

Freshman forward Glenn Reepmeyer also had six rebounds for The Rock.

Women's game -- Sophomore forward Erin Frankovich led The Rock women vs. Bloomsburg with 15 points and six rebounds. Frankovich had a career-high 16 points in the previous game, a loss last Sunday at Millersville.

Senior guard Missy McKavish and sophomore forward Stacey Green added 11 points each at Bloomsburg.

McKavish, who now needs one point to move into 11th place on the SRU career scoring list, also handed out four assists and had three steals.

The Rock turned the ball over 14 times, compared to Bloomsburg's 24, but was outrebounded by a 45-24 margin.
