Former Rock player Jenny Dumas was
interim head coach in 2002
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Jenny
Dumas, who coached the team on an interim basis last
fall, was named Wednesday as head coach of the Slippery Rock
University women's field hockey team.
Dumas, a former three-year starter as goalie for The Rock's field
hockey team, led SRU to a 5-13 record in her first season as head
coach. That win total represented an improvement of two over the
previous fall's mark and was the highest since 1998 when The Rock
won eight games.
Dumas is a native of Glen Mills and a graduate of Garnet Valley
High School. In addition to serving as The Rock's field hockey
goalie, she was SRU s starting softball catcher for three
seasons.
She received her bachelor's degree in Social Work in the summer of
2002 and is currently enrolled in SRU's master's degree program as
a secondary school counseling major.
