The University's employment and personnel practices are designed and implemented to prevent discrimination in hiring or employment practices against male or female employees as a group.  The following practices or policies are followed:

  1. Recruitment for all positions is open to members of both genders unless gender is a bona fide occupational qualification.

  2. Advertisements and notices of position openings do not express a gender preference.

  3. Personnel policies prohibit discrimination against applicants or employees because of gender.

  4. No distinction is made between married and unmarried persons of one gender that is not made between married and unmarried persons of the opposite gender.

  5. Appropriate facilities are available to both genders.

  6. Wage rates are not related to, or based on, the gender of the employee.

  7. All opportunities arising in the University are open to employees without regard to gender.

  8. The University continues to actively recruit women for positions where they have been previously underrepresented because of gender stereotyping.

  9. The University has established specific policies and procedures for dealing with allegations of sexual harassment consistent with the university's Affirmative Action Plan and federal law.
