Allie Heid Brandt Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: First preference to female junior or senior education major with a 3.0 QPA who has demonstrated teaching potential and financial need. Northern Allegeny County resident and females preferred, but others will be considered.

Sadie Lindey Carey Scholarship

Criteria: Students must be pursuing a degree in teacher education, have a minimum status of a second semester sophomore at the time of application, a minimum of 3.00 cumulative QPA.  Must demonstrate financial need.

Duane and Dorothy Conway Scholarship

Criteria: Awarded to a Sophomore, Junior or Senior education major.  Renewable at the discretion of the College.

Class of '43 Scholarship

Criteria: Education major who has completed 75 credits with a 3.0 QPA.  Must demonstrate financial need.

Class of '57 Scholarship

Criteria: Education major, must have completed 45 credit hours and have exhibited significant service and/or contribution to SRU and/or surrounding communities. Undergraduate applicants must have at least a 3.0 QPA and Graduate applicants must have at least a 3.5 QPA.

Criteria: Junior or senior elementary, secondary or physical education major with a minimum of a 3.0 to 3.25 QPA.

Hockenberry Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Upper-class student with a 3.0 QPA and in good standing in the College of Education. First preference to a student from Moniteau or Slippery Rock High Schools.

International Experience Award

Criteria: Elementary Education major (1st major) with a QPA of 3.0 or higher who is a 1) senior doing an international student teaching experience, or 2) junior doing an international field experience, or 3) sophomore or higher standing taking an international field base course.

Ann Liedel-Rice Urban Award

Criteria: Senior with a QPA of 3.0 or higher who is teaching in the urban student teaching program. Students must be Elementary/Early Childhood Education Major.

Louis Rossi Education Scholarship

Criteria: Junior or senior elementary education major who has earned a minimum 3.0 QPA and has financial need.  Scholarship is renewable if a 3.0 is maintained.  First preference, male student.

Catherine Morsink Scholarship

Criteria: Full-time students in the College of Education seeking certification to teach K-12. At least 3.25 QPA, with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in the teaching profession as evidenced by strong volunteer or practicum experiences and has financial need. Preference will be given to students with interest or experience in multiple cultures, exceptionalities, or non-traditional students.

Sara Belle Eakin Riddle Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Senior elementary education major with financial need and has shown academic excellence.

Samuel G. Sava Scholarship for Elementary Education

Criteria: Elementary education majors who are juniors at time of application and will be a senior class standing when awarded (minimum completion of 90 credits) with at least at 3.0 QPA. Must demonstrate financial need and evidence of exceptional potential as an educator.

The Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Secondary Education

Criteria: Student majoring in one of the secondary education certification areas who has completed a minimum of 60 credits at SRU and has a cumulative QPA of at least a 3.25. Student must show evidence of exceptional potential as an educator.
Amount: $500 - 2 awarded

Dr. Charlotte H. Shapiro Scholarship

Criteria: Education major from western Pennsylvania.  The scholarship is awarded to students who are committed to excellence in teaching and academic success who demonstrate financial need.

Mark A. Shiring Teacher Education Fund

Criteria: Sophomore, junior, or senior elementary, secondary or special education majors with at least 42 completed credits with a 2.5 QPA and accepted into the college of education. Awarded money may be used for travel, conferences, or projects.

Madeline Farnen Stoops

Criteria: Sophomore or junior education majors with a 3.5 QPA. Butler County or Delaware resident preferred, but others will be considered. For students with exceptional promise as future educators, as demonstrated in the classroom, in field experience, or by participation in special projects.

Criteria: Junior or first-semester-Senior (by the end of the current fall semester) woman who is an elementary education major with a 3.25 QPA.  US citizenship required.

Kay Wolford Endowment for Education Majors
