(APSCUF) SRU Assoc. of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculty Scholarship

Criteria: Student or immediate family member of recognized labor union, enrolled for a minimum of six credits, and not otherwise eligible for a tuition waiver. Must have completed at least 36 credits and have a 3.0 QPA.
Amount: Up to two awards of $1,000/yr.

Asian Studies Scholarship

Criteria: The student must have at least 6 credits toward the minor, must have declared an Asian Studies minor, and have a minimum 3.0 QPA in this minor. The student should write a short statement about his/her interest in Asian Studies.
Amount: Up to $100

Ann T. Bicknell Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Undergraduate student with a Gerontology minor of at least sophomore status who demonstrates service to the university and community

Slippery Rock University Black Caucus Scholarship

Criteria: Students who wish to be considered for the scholarship must have a minimum 2.5 QPA overall. Students must be 2nd semester freshman through 1st semester senior. The following must also be included with the application: essay addressing predetermined topic (not exceeding 500 words), letter of intent explaining necessity of the award and campus involvement, official transcript, and two letters of recommendation from faculty, staff or administrators and Slippery Rock University (addressing scholarship, interpersonal skills, leadership, writing, speaking, computer skills, and any other relative academic observations that may assist the committees' evaluation)

Butler County Bar Association Scholarship

Criteria: Junior or Senior interested in pursuing a law degree.  First preference will be given to a Butler County resident.
Amount: up to $1000 renewable

The Lucille Calabretta AFSCME Scholarship

Criteria: United States Citizen, PA resident.  sophomore, Junior or Senior standing, 2.5 or better QPA.  SRU Full-time student.  
Amount: Awards vary up to $750

Meiping Cheng Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Must be at least a sophomore II with 3.5 QPA, demonstrate financial need. U.S. citizenship required.
Amount: Awards vary up to $3,000/year.

Eisaman Alumni Scholarship

Criteria: Full-time sophomore eligibility not limited to a specific area of study, QPA of at least 3.25.

Carol Holland International Student Scholarship

Criteria: Full-time international students having earned a minimum of 60 credits at SRU, financial need, progressively improved academic standing.
Amount: up to $1000

Rose and Dale Kaufman Scholarship

Criteria: Degree-seeking undergraduate students at least 25 years of age. Must have completed at least 24 credit hours, possess an overall 3.0 QPA and demonstrate financial need. The recipient will be required to complete 21 semester hours of credit over a 12-month period .

Stan Kendziorski International Student Scholarship

Criteria: First time undergraduate international student, completion of six semesters in residence at SRU prior to graduation, academic achievement, contribution to SRU campus life, financial need.
Amount: up to $1500 - full-tuition; one award per academic year

Carl and Norma Laughner Scholarship

Criteria: Applicant must be a son/daughter, nephew/niece, grandson/granddaughter, or spouse of a current SRU Alumni Association member. Must have a 3.00 QPA and demonstrate university and community service. Student must have earned at least 12 credits by the end of the current fall semester; transfer students must have earned at least 12 credits at SRU to be eligible.
Amount: up to $1,250

Maree McKay/Esther Smiley Academic Alumni Scholarship

Criteria: Junior with 3.25 QPA and demonstrated involvement in university activities and/or community service. Must have a minimum of 60 credits earned (maximum of 36 transfer credits) by the end of the current fall semester. Students receiving tuition waivers are not eligible.
Amount: up to $1000 - awarding up to seven scholarships

Katherine M. Moore Health Education Award

Criteria: Undergraduate student of at least sophomore status who demonstrates strong interest and dedication to health promotion/education. Preference given to member of HOPE Peer Education Program.

Edna C. Rohwedder Community Service Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Available to sophomores and juniors with a minimum 3.0 QPA and a commitment to service. Preference given to students with extensive Girl Scouting, Boy Scouting or AmeriCorps experience.
Amount: up to $250/year minimum.

Marjorie Stephenson Scholarship

Criteria: Black female students will receive preference but other students will be considered. Majors in the arts, humanities, social sciences and education will receive priority. Must have earned a minimum of 30 credits by the end of Spring Term.
Amount: Up to $1,000. Several scholarships are granted each year.

Venango County by an SRU Family Scholarship

Criteria:  Junior at the end of the spring 2009 semester; Must be a Venango County resident; Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits in either the College of Education or the Department of Communication in the College of Business, Information and Social Sciences; Preference will be given to non-traditional students

Mary P. Wodiska Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Junior or Senior, who has completed at least 60 credit hours at SRU with 3.75 QPA. Must demonstrate financial need.
