General Financial Aid Brochures:


Financial Aid Guide: This brochure provides basic information about financial aid programs and application processes at SRU.  Included in this brochure is a timeline to guide students and families through the financial aid application process.

Understanding Your Award Letter:  This brochure provides information about the types of financial that may appear on an award letter, how financial aid is disbursed, and general information about the work-study program on campus.  This brochure also provides guidance to help students understand the differences and benefits of the Federal Stafford Loan Program, the Federal PLUS Loan Program and the non-federal alternative loan programs. Please refer to the following pages for specific information on the following:

  • Pages 4 & 5 for information about the Federal Perkins and Federal Stafford Loan Programs
  • Pages 6 & 7 for a Worksheet to Help you Estimate your Out-of-Pocket Expenses for the Year
  • Pages 8 - 10 for information about the Federal PLUS Loan and the non-federal Alternative Loan Programs. Both of these loan types are credit-based.

PHEAA's annual Guide to Student Aid:  This comprehensive brochure outlines the financial aid process and providing in-depth information on all student financial aid programs that are available to Pennsylvania students, including the need-based State Grant. 

 

 

Academic Progress Appeal Forms:


The forms in this section should be used by students who have lost federal financial aid eligibility and who want to request reconsideration based on their documented extenuating circumstances.

Verification Forms:

 

Students selected for verification by the U.S. Department of Education must complete the Slippery Rock University Verification Form along with SIGNED copies tax returns as specified on the verification form. 

Students selected for verification will receive this form and instructions in the mail.

Students in the 3+3 DPT Option:

 

Students pursuing the 3+3 DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy) Option often have questions about how their financial aid will be processed as they move from the undergraduate studies to graduate studies.   Below please find links to a general information piece about financial aid for the 3+3 DPT option, along with timelines/calendars to guide students through the financial aid process.  Students should review both the General Information Sheet and the applicable Timeline/Calendar.
