ROCK WOMEN’S WATER POLO DOWNS GROVE CITY, 8-3
WASHINGTON, Pa.
– Shannon Holt and Nicole Morgan scored two
goals each Tuesday night to lead Slippery Rock University (22-8) to
an 8-3 win over Grove City College in women’s water polo
action at Washington & Jefferson College.
Holt, a
junior from Sinking Spring (Wilson H.S.), now has a
team-high 87 goals this season. Morgan, a sophomore from
Helotes, Texas (Communication Arts H.S.), has scored
24 goals this season.
Four Rock players
scored one goal each. Karolyn Kiefer (sr., Elmhurst,
Ill./York H.S.) now has 66 goals this season, Kim
Adams (jr., Erie/McDowell H.S.) has 30 goals,
Bridgette Rhoades (so., Girard/Girard H.S.)
has seven goals and Diana Buck (so.,
Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley H.S.) has three
goals.
Senior goalie
Lynn Boutin (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley
H.S.) recorded 11 saves vs. Grove City to increase her
season total to 323.
The Rock returns
to action on Friday when it will open play in the Southern
Regionals tournament at Bucknell University.
