ROCK GOLF FINISHES 11TH IN INDIANA U. OF PA.
INVITATIONAL
INDIANA,
Pa. – Slippery Rock University finished 11th
out of 12 teams Wednesday at the Indiana U. of Pa. Invitational at
the Indiana Country Club.
The
Rock finished with a team total of 322 strokes. Allegheny won the
team title with 290.
The
Rock was led by the tandem of Mario Verticelli and Dan
Rodgers, both of whom had scores of 77 to finish in a tie for
18th place in the individual competition.
Bill Ganoe and Patrick Zeni each shot an 84 to finish in
a tie for 47th place, while Ben Acre had an 85 to
finish tied for 52nd.
On
Tuesday, The Rock finished ninth in an 11-team field at the Bob
Raymond Invitational hosted by SRU at the Armco Golf Club. The Rock
had a team score of 321; Indiana U. of Pa. won the team title with
a score of 296.
Verticelli
and Acre each shot a 76 and finished in a tie for 17th
place to lead The Rock effort in the Raymond Invitational. Rodgers
carded a 79 to tie for 33rd place, Ganoe had an 82 to
tie for 44th place, Zeni shot an 84 to tie for
52nd place and Matt Walsh had an 88 to finish
59th.
