To assist academic departments in their curriculum development of new initiatives, three documents from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education must be consulted.  

  • The title of the first document, "Notification of Intent to Develop a New Major; New Minor Progarm When No Major Exists; or New Certificate Program when No Major Exists," explains its purpose.  This document needs to be submitted to the PASSHE through the Provost, for approval before a completed proposal document is produced.  For further information on this procedure, please contact Cindi Dillon at extension 2172.
  • A second document, New Academic Program Proposal Process," offers information on the actions, and time table for new academic program proposals
  • The third document, "Suggested Format for New Academic Program Proposals," is a set of guidelines that deal with new program proposals.  Those proposals are to contain a specified and detailed set of elements.
  • The guidelines and formats found in these documents are in addition to local University Curriculum Committee procedures.
