To assist academic departments in their curriculum development of new initiatives, three documents from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education must be consulted.
- The title of the first document, "Notification of Intent to Develop a New Major; New Minor Program When No Major Exists; or New Certificate Program when No Major Exists," explains its purpose. This document needs to be submitted to the PASSHE through the Provost, for approval before a completed proposal document is produced. For further information on this procedure, please contact Cindi Dillon at extension 2172.
- A second document, New Academic Program Proposal Process," offers information on the actions, and time table for new academic program proposals
- The third document, "Suggested Format for New Academic Program Proposals," is a set of guidelines that deal with new program proposals. Those proposals are to contain a specified and detailed set of elements.
- The guidelines and formats found in these documents are in addition to local University Curriculum Committee procedures.
