 Living in North Hall
 
North Hall is a traditional residence featuring rooms with high ceilings. It is a quiet and friendly environment.

All students residing in North Hall for the summer will have single rooms and are required to have a meal plan.
 
North Hall has the following amenities:
Single room for each resident

Laundry room on site
24 hour study lounges
study lounge with a fireplace
Common kitchen and vending area
Free voice mail and local calling
Basic cable television
Computer lab with printer and network access, recreation room, pool table and big screen TV
 
 Dining
A meal plan is part of the on-campus summer living contract. For each session, you have a choice of a ten or fourteen meals per week meal plan. Flex fund is not available with summer meal plans.

Summer meals are served in Weisenfluh Hall.

Meal Service Hours (hours are subject to change):

Monday through Friday
  Breakfast   7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.  
Lunch        11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Dinner        4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday
  Brunch      10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  Dinner       4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Shoes and shirts must be worn in the dining hall at all times.

Remember, you are automatically enrolled in a meal plan while residing in summer housing.

 Moving In
 
You will be assigned your room during check in. You may check in from 12 noon until 4 pm in the lobby of North Hall the day before the first day of each session.  You must pay your House Council dues for each summer session for which you have contracted housing in order to obtain your room key.  House Council dues  are due at check in - $3 for Pre-Session, $5 per session for Sessions I and II.

IMPORTANT - Pre-Session Check In:

If you are moving from the residence halls at the close of finals week (end of Spring 2007 term) and need to stay on campus, you will be able to make arrangements to move directly into North Hall. 
 
The halls close on May 9, and do not reopen until May 13.  The fee to stay on campus during this break is $45. If you wish to stay during this break, make sure you check "Closing Break" in the Summer 2008 Residence Hall Agreement.  Your student account will be charged for additional $45.00.
 
You would then check in to North Hall on May 9 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Dining service is not available during this brief break. If you are not staying on campus during the break between Spring and Pre-session, there is no charge to store your belongings until Pre-Session begins. Arrangements to store your belongings can be made by calling the North Hall office at x2691

 Additional Important Information
 
Professional staff and Community Assistants are available to answer questions and provide assistance. The North Hall office telephone number is 724-738-2691.

Students residing in University residence halls expected to comply with all the residence hall and University policies and to respect the rights of all residents.

Your ID card must be presented for admittance to the dining hall, and is necessary to operate the 24-hour card access entry into North Hall.

You will be asked to sign a summer Residence Hall Agreement (contract) at check in, if you have not previously done so.
