LOCATION CHANGED FOR MUSICIANS’ CONCERT BAND SUMMER SERIES

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The four-part, summer Musicians’ Concert Band series originally planned for the Slippery Rock University campus has been relocated to Butler Intermediate School.

The concerts, under the direction of Blase S. Scarnatti, professor emeritus of music at SRU, will be held on the same schedule: 7 p.m., June 20 and 8 p.m., July 10, July 24 and Aug. 7. The opening concert by the 100-musician band is titled “All the World’s a Stage” and will include selections by the Musicians’ Concert Band Dixieland Combo. Admission is $2.

A problem with the stage scenery rigging system in SRU’s Miller Auditorium forced the relocation. University officials are reviewing various options to correct the problem.
