How Do I Sign My Stafford Loan Promissory Note on-line?

Federal regulations require all first-time Federal Stafford Loan borrowers to complete entrance counseling and sign the Master Promissory Note before funds can be disbursed. You can complete these federal requirement on-line by following these instructions:
Step 1: Collect the information you need to e-sign your MPN:
- Your driver's license number
- The name, address, telephone number and e-mail address (if available) of two adults at different U.S. addresses, the first of which should be a parent or legal guardian
- Your federal PIN number; if you do not have your PIN, you can apply for your PIN at http://www.pin.ed.gov
Step 2: Go to http://www.aesSuccess.org and click on "Apply for a Stafford Loan"
- Review the information and select "Continue"
- Select the option to "Create an Account" or enter our AES Account Access information if you already created one
- Follow the steps to complete your MPN
- All first time loan borrowers must complete ENTRANCE COUNSELING. You will be directed to complete the counseling prior to e-signing your loan. Please follow these steps as your loan funds will not be disbursed to the school until your entrance counseling is complete and you have e-signed your loan.
Step 3: At the end of MPN e-sign process, you will need to locate your four character Stafford MPN transaction code located at the bottom of the Stafford MPN document. Write down the transaction code! You will not be able to complete the process without this code.
Step 4: Print a copy of your electronically signed MPN and keep for your records.
