The Harmony
Homestead site and permaculture design includes four ponds, which
serve as potential sources of irrigation water for the gardens and
orchard, as habitat providers for many local flora and fauna and as
a food source. In 1999 the ponds were stocked with blue gill and
catfish.
Digging
the ponds

Ponds were established at the Harmony Homestead and
stocked with small fish to eat mosquito larvae as well as
oxygenating plants and material furnished for experimentation by
Hirth Greenhouse in West Sunbury, PA.
