"The voice of my grandmother said to me, Teach your children what you have been taught. The earth is our mother, What befalls the earth, befalls all the sons and daughters of the earth."

- Chief Seattle

Since 1990, the Macoskey Center has been site of an annual Earth Fest Celebration. Events at the Center include local bands, student performers, kite flying, various demonstrations (tree grafting, strawbale design, solar cooking, water filter construction, wool spinning, and many more), food, and children's activities. Day's events also include tours and an oral history of the Macoskey Center to educate visitors to the history behind what they see today.

In recent years Earth Fest activities have expaned to include an entire week of events leading up to Earth Fest. These events have included an ecological art show, movie night, solar oven demonstration, organic lunch, speakers, kite making, planetariums shows and much more.
