| Created in 2001, the Division of Lifelong Learning oversees the development and implementation of educational initiatives that are delivered beyond the boundaries of the campus. The Division accomplishes its mission by acting as a major educational force in Western Pennsylvania serving the needs of any constituent without regard to their location. In addition, it fosters professional and personal development by sharing the knowledge and expertise of the university and making the university's resources available to diverse populations of all ages. |
Goals:
- Provide high quality credit and non-credit lifelong learning opportunities and expand continuing education programs for professional and personal development to non-traditional students
- Foster internal and external partnerships to increase continuing education opportunities
- Enhance economic development of the region through effective workforce development programs
- Provide programs to assist citizens of all ages in becoming better stewards of the Earth’s resources through the McKeever Environmental Center and the Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education
- Assist area businesses in acquiring workforce training grants as a Local Education Agent for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development
- Train and develop all individuals in leadership practices that will enable them to adapt their leadership style to inspire a team that creates positive change personally and professionally
