Dr. Ciesielka graduated from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Natural Sciences in 1977 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Nursing in 1979, and a Doctorate in Education in 2005. She is also
a 1984 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a Master's
Degree in Adult Primary Health Care Nursing. In addition to
teaching duties at Clarion University, she maintains a clinical
practice at an inner city ambulatory care clinic. Her special
interests are ENT, allergy, and asthma, online teaching, and the
history of nursing. |

Dr. Conway currently coordinates the joint MSN Program and is an
experienced pediatric nurse. Her Ph.D. from the University of
Pittsburgh is in the field of Parent-Child Nursing. In addition,
Dr. Conway is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and
maintains a faculty practice in family health. She has extensive
experience as both a faculty member and administrator and is
currently teaching nursing theory and research in the nurse
practitioner program. Her research focuses on the needs of children
and families and pain management strategies. |

Dr. DePalma is a graduate of the Presbyterian University Hospital
School of Nursing. She received her BSN and MSN from the University
of Pittsburgh and received her Ph.D. from the Duquesne University
online doctoral program. Dr. DePalma is an experienced teacher, as
prior to teaching at Slippery Rock University she has taught at
Duquesne University, the University of Pittsburgh and numerous
diploma schools in both the Pittsburgh and Seattle areas. Dr.
DePalma is currently a Senior Research Associate with the Oncology
Nursing Society. Her research focuses on quality clinical outcomes
for consumers and evidence-based practice. |

Joyce Keenan, MSN, CRNP, RNC

Ms. Keenan is currently acting as Director of the School of Nursing
and Allied Health at Clarion University. She received her diploma
from Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing, she also
holds a BSN from Slippery Rock University, and graduated from the
MSN program at Edinboro University. Joyce also holds Family Nurse
Practitioner Certification from Edinboro University as well. She is
certified in Maternal-Newborn Nursing and has diverse clinical and
educational experiences. Her major areas of interest are
maternal-newborn and trauma. |

Dr. McClune received both her BSN and MSN degrees from Edinboro
University. She completed her PhD at the University of Pittsburgh
School of Nursing. Her doctoral work focused on comfort theory and
quality of life. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing
at Edinboro University. Dr. McClune has broad experience in
critical care, neurosurgery, pediatrics, and orthopedics holding
positions from staff nurs to outcomes manager and nursing
excellence coordinator. Her research interests include comfort
theory, measurement, and data analysis. |

Dr. Nelson is currently the Chairperson of the Nursing Department
at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She holds a
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Duquesne University and a
Master's Degree in both Nursing and Information Science, as well as
a Ph.D in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a
member of and is actively involved in the informatics work of the
American Medical Informatics Association and the National League
for Nursing. Dr. Nelson is a Sigma Theta Tau Distinguished
Lecturer. Her areas of research include nursing informatics,
consumer informatics, distance education, and the information
literacy. |

Ms. Nosel is currently the Chairperson of the Nursing Department at
Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Baccalaureate
Degree in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her
MSN Degree from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration
in nursing of children. She is currently enrolled in the D Ed.
Program in Administration and Leadership studies at Indiana
University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include end of
life care, the BSN as an entry to practice and the educational and
socialization needs of the non-tracitonal nursing student.

Joyce Penrose, DrPH, CRNP

Dr. Penrose received her BSN from the Louisiana State University
Medical Center in new Orleans and her Master's Degree in Public
Health from Tulane University. She holds a Post Master's
Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of
Virginia and Doctor of Public Health from the University of
Pittsburgh. Dr. Penrose is responsible for a number of the
program's clinical courses and a present maintains a faculty
practice at the Bethlehem Haven, a shelter for homeless women. Dr.
Penrose's research interest is in the area of women's health,
especially related to the prevention of sexually transmitted
diseases.

Ms. Sparlin is currently an Assistant Professor of Biology. She
completed her undergraduate degree and graduate work at Slippery
Rock University and has continued post-Masters studies at LaRoche
College and the University of Cincinnati. In 1984, she began
teaching for Clarion University at the Pittsburgh site. As well as
Anatomy and Physiology, she now teaches undergraduate
Pathophysiology and Human Genetics as well as Advanced Concepts in
Pathophysiology for the Family Nurse Practitioner
Program. |
