SLIPPERY
ROCK UNIVERSITY NAMED ONE OF 98 GREAT SCHOOLS TO
CONSIDER
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The nationally respected
Princeton Review has named Slippery Rock University one of the 98
best universities in the nation’s six-state, mid-Atlantic
region.
“Princeton
Review’s ranking are considered especially important because
of the influence current students have on the rankings,” said
Interim President Robert Smith.
SRU
students reported that the environs of the university
“provides an academic setting for those serious about
learning,” and they praised the small classes sizes and
“excellent tutoring center, the writing center and resident
hall study groups.”
The
review also reported a “marked friendliness pervades the
Slippery Rock atmosphere.”
In
writing to Smith, author Robert Franek noted “please know
that it was a great pleasure reviewing your school’s
credentials; you have much to brag about.” The mid-Atlantic
region includes Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C.,
West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
“To
have us included in this list, with some very big names, is
certainly something our entire campus community and alumni can be
proud of,” Smith said.
Published
by Random House Princeton Review Books, the mid-Atlantic college
report is part of a five-book, regional series. Others volumes
review colleges in the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and West. The
rankings are based on factual information and student interviews.
The series is available at bookstores across the U.S. and on line
