Pennsylvania’s new Secretary of Education Dr. Vicki L. Phillipswill deliver the keynote address at the Slippery Rock University College of Education Fall School Administrator’s Breakfast Seminar set for Sept. 9.

The event, open to the press and invited school superintendents from western Pennsylvania, will run8 to 10:30 a.m. in Boozel Dining Hall on the SRU campus.

Dr. Phillips, appointed to the state’s top education post by Gov. Ed Rendell, is expected to outline her vision for education in Pennsylvania.

 (BACKGROUND: The breakfast seminars are held annually by SRU’s College of Education as a way of thanking  school district administrators for their support and cooperation with the university’s student-teacher program. As of Aug. 28, more than 75 regional school administrators indicated they would attend. The lecture is expected to get under way at 8:45.)
