All about Greg:

My name is Greg Bacon, and I am a senior Secondary Education English student at Slippery Rock University.  I am creating this website as a class project for SEFE 426, also called Teaching Of English Practicum course.  The purpose of the site is to allow anyone who is interested the ability to view what we are doing for class.  On this site, there will be various links.  Some of the links will include my resume, journal entries for class, links to educational websites, as well as links for websites containing some of the activities and hobbies that I am interested in.  But first, allow me to introduce myself, where I am from, what I like to do, and where I will hopefully be one year from today.

I am a graduate of Plum Senior High School, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  While at Plum, I was a member of the varsity football team, as well as a member of both the indoor and outdoor men's track and field team.  I graduated from Plum in 2000 and began attending Slippery Rock University in the fall.  Even though I have graduated high school, I still am a very active member of the Plum community.  I currently am a three year volunteer sprint coach for the Plum Running Mustangs track team, and I also offer assistance to the cross-country teams whenever I have the opportunity.  I have many hobbies other than coaching.  I enjoy fishing, camping, boating, and most outdoor activities.  Along with outdoor activities, I am an enormous sports fan.  The fall is my favorite season because high school, college, and professional football is underway and professional hockey begins shortly thereafter.  I also enjoy spending as much time with my family as possible.  I am hoping that one year from today I am teaching at a school close to my home.  If that is not possible, I will most likely move to the Phoenix, Arizona area close to my brother where I will hopefully begin a teaching career there.  As Jimmy Buffett once said, "Only time will tell."
