Style and Form
The scholarly project has many
formats, depending upon the nature of the activity. All projects
must result in some form of a product, usually written but
occasionally presented in another medium, such as a videotape or
compact disc. when the document that results from the project is an
article for publication, it is always formatted according to the
guidelines of the journal to which submission is planned. When the
final product is a research report, it is to be formatted according
to the most recent edition of the Style and Form Manual of the
American Psychological Association. In all cases when the final
product is a document, it is expected that it will be well written,
clear, and cogent.
Policies and Instructions for
Binding Final Copies of Scholarly Projects
Wehn the output of the scholarly
project is a research report, students have two options in regard
to binding. Most students will want to have their reports bound in
soft cover at a store like Kinko's. All copies must have a cover
page that contains the signatures of the project chair, the program
coordinator and the associate vice president of academic affairs.
They must contain a table of contents, an abstract and a committee
signature page. These copies are distributed as follows; one to the
project committee chair, one to the nursing department officies of
Clarion, Edinboro and Slippery Rock Universities and one to the
office of the program coordinator.
When students wish to have their
research reports bound in the same manner as theses, they must
adhere to the instructions that apply to all theses for master's
degrees at Clarion University. Directions may be found at: Policies and Instructions for
Final Copies of Theses
