GHOST STORIES PLANNED AT OLD STONE HOUSE
HALLOWEEN EVENT
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The ghosts of Halloween past, present
and future will assemble at Slippery Rock University’s Old
Stone House from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23-24 as part of the
facility’s traditional “Halloween at the Old Stone
House” program offering storytelling and
tours.
The
tales – ghost stories and mini-plays -- will be offered by
SRU students, including those from the history department and its
Phi Alpha Theta honorary, students from the theater department,
along with members of the Brookville Storytellers Guild and Knox
High School students. Storytellers will lead guests through the
house as part of the program.
The
event is coordinated by Scot Buffington, a graduate student in
history from Ambridge, and Dr. David Dixon, professor of history
and curator of the museum.
The
Old Stone House, located at the intersections of routes 8, 528, and
173, three miles south of Slippery Rock, is one of Butler
County’s most recognized landmarks.
WISR, 680-AM, will broadcast live from the
grounds from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23th, including
opportunities to talk with local radio
personalities.
