GHOST STORIES PLANNED AT OLD STONE HOUSE HALLOWEEN EVENT

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The ghosts of Halloween past, present and future will assemble at Slippery Rock University’s Old Stone House from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23-24 as part of the facility’s traditional “Halloween at the Old Stone House” program offering storytelling and tours.

The tales – ghost stories and mini-plays -- will be offered by SRU students, including those from the history department and its Phi Alpha Theta honorary, students from the theater department, along with members of the Brookville Storytellers Guild and Knox High School students. Storytellers will lead guests through the house as part of the program.

The event is coordinated by Scot Buffington, a graduate student in history from Ambridge, and Dr. David Dixon, professor of history and curator of the museum.

The Old Stone House, located at the intersections of routes 8, 528, and 173, three miles south of Slippery Rock, is one of Butler County’s most recognized landmarks.

WISR, 680-AM, will broadcast live from the grounds from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23th, including opportunities to talk with local radio personalities.
