RECYCLING EFFORTS UP 10% IN YEAR AT SLIPPERY
ROCK UNIVERSITY
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Faculty, staff and
students at Slippery Rock University are recycling – and in a
big, big way. Last year, the university recycled 477,257 pounds of
material – up 10 percent from the previous
year.
William
J. Rudloff, director of environmental health and safety, notes
“We appreciate the efforts extended, and we continue to look
at ways to improve the recycling program.” He points out the
university has added the collection of used batteries (alkaline,
nicad, lithium, etc.) and the collection of confidential material
for shredding by an outside firm as part of its
efforts.
In
further discussing the recycling program, Rudloff noted university
offices recycle all types of copy and typing
paper, newspapers, magazines, books, cardboard, ticket stubs, index
cards and envelopes.
