Spanish: 30-48 hours

I.       Basic Skills Courses: (0-18 hours) Exemption is possible from these courses according to performance on the placement test.  CLEP, AP and OPI credits are accepted for some of the following courses.

III.              Spanish Electives: (for students who exempt any of the required core. Any Spanish       course may be used in this block except 210: Literature in Translation.

Prerequisite for 15:455: oral proficiency rating of Advanced Low

 

Students who are seeking elementary certification also will student teach one-half             semester in K-6 and one-half semester in a Spanish secondary program (7-12).

Prerequisite for field semester is SEFE 200 plus 30 hours toward the specialization.

This may vary depending on your placement.

 

V.                Study Abroad Program: (highly recommended). Students should plan to spend a summer or semester in a country where Spanish is spoken. Credits earned may be used to fill the above requirements.
