NOTE:

  1. SEFE 323 through SEFE 455 requires Admission to Teacher Education prior enrolling. Prior to Admission to Teacher Education, a student must have passed PPST Reading, PPST Writing, PPST Math, and Listening Skills portions of the PRAXIS exam before acceptance into the College of Education.
  2. Transcripted courses with an earned "D" will NOT be credited toward certification.
  3. 2.6 QPA is required for Admission; 3.0 QPA MUST be maintained to be eligible for certification in your professional education courses as well as in you major requirements.
  4. 6 credits of college level Math and 6 credits of college level English are required before initial certification
  5. If you are seeking more than one certification through Slippery Rock University, you must satisfactorily complete that part of the PRAXIS examination. For example, if you are seeking certification in Social Studies and English, you must take two separate specialty area exams.
  6. When making application for certification, you must have an updated Act 34 Clearance Form and Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance Form which are to accompany your certification application and money order made payable to "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania". Return these forms to the Secondary Education/Foundations of Education Department, Room 114, McKay Education Building.
