»	500 High School Scientists/Researchers to Visit SRU Saturday SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Some 500 scientist hopefuls will bring their experiments to Slippery Rock University on Saturday [Feb. 28] as part of the Region IX, Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition. The two top winners of the competition receive $12,000 scholarships to SRU and other awards.

»	SRU Communication Students Take Top Keystone Press Awards SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Two Slippery Rock University communication students have taken first-place honors in the celebrated Pennsylvania Newspaper Press Association’s 10th Annual Scholastic and Collegiate Keystone Press awards for their work on The Rocket, the weekly student newspaper which also captured top honors for its on-line edition.

»	Yearend Report: SRU Saw Achievements in Enrollment, Retention, National Programs SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University was rated as one of the 98 “Best Mid-Atlantic Colleges” by the prestigious Princeton Review in 2003. The year also brought “Best in the Nation Status” for the university’s Therapeutic Recreation Program from the American Therapeutic Recreation Association. And, Outside magazine cited SRU’s Park Ranger Program among the best in the country. Those and other accomplishments made for a year of significant achievements at the nearby state-owned university.

»	1,000 High School Students Vie for Language Awards at SRU SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – More than 1,000 high school world language students from approximately 25 area high schools will be on the Slippery Rock University campus beginning at 8 a.m. Feb. 17 for the university’s annual department of modern languages and cultures department “World Language Competition.”
»	Sustainable Systems Seminar Series Offers Enivronmental Updates SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Understanding and minimizing society's impact on the environment, global warming policy and the new global economy are some of the topics for exploration during Slippery Rock University's on-going "Sustainable Systems Seminar Series" which runs Feb. 4 through April 28. The lectures are free and open to the public.
