PERFORMANCE OF ‘REQUIEM FOR FRED ROGERS’ FEATURED ON NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –  More than 1,000 area residents turned out for two performances of “In Memoriam: A Requiem for Fred Rogers,” written by Pittsburgher Luke Mayernick in honor of the famed children’s television personality and performed by Slippery Rock University’s Orchestra and Choir.

The premiere performance in St. Justin Church, Mt. Washington, attracted the attention of WDUQ radio and was featured on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” news program Tuesday evening.

Mr. Rogers died Feb. 27, 2003.
